Expert Knowledge: Why Off-The-Shelf Kitchens Don't Fit Older Homes

No wall in a lived-in home is truly square. Flat-pack kitchens rely on a square opening and get finished with ugly filler strips wherever the wall isn't. SBI measures each opening to millimetres, then fabricates a custom scribe allowance into the end panels so the cabinetry tracks the actual wall line — no gaps, no fillers, no "builder's caulk" hiding a bad fit. This is the single biggest difference between a built-in kitchen and a bolted-in one.
